Gran is a delightful 12 bedroom Eighteenth Century Menorcan Farmhouse
and working farm, set in 25 acres of tranquil countryside.

Before arriving in Menorca, we spent ten
years working in the Caribbean, (well someone had to do it!)
Shaun as a Chartered Accountant and myself as a Primary School
Teacher. Although we no longer accept children, I sometimes
feel my training as a teacher beneficial more to the grown-ups
who misbehave!
We decided to do something completely different and having
spent many happy holidays on the Island in the past, a move
to Menorca was an obvious choice. Shaun and I bought the mainly
derelict Matchani Gran in 1988, amidst total disbelief from
our friends and family, who thought the sun had affected our
judgement. |

Eight years have been spent (and many bank
loans later), totally renovating and converting the house to
the high standard expected by our guests. All South rooms, the
North 4 Poster and West Room are now installed with individually
controlled air-conditioning and heating, together with ceiling
fans.
The house is shared with our dog Shamus and our two cats
Ginger and Blackie. |
