Ode to Matchani
Shall I compare
"Matchani" on a Summers Day.
That is both lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do strip the bougainvillea leaves away,
And Juan with bucket leased doth clear the fray.
Sometimes too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And oft is Shaun's gold complexion dimmed,
But Jenny's soup from fair, ne´ér ore declines,
No chance but here her plates remain untrimmed,
This Matchani Gran's & eternal Summer shall not fade,
Nor shall Shaun lose possession of his hair,
Whose golden glow gives lie to time,
So long as beer and gin flow free and we have eyes to see,
The Matchani lives in memory,
and we are thus set free.
